The National Scholarship Programme (NSP) of the Slovak Republic is a fully funded mobility scholarship designed to support international students, PhD candidates, university teachers, researchers, and artists. - β¬1,470/month (PhD, 10+ years experience)

Eligibility Criteria
General Requirements:
- Open to citizens of all countries worldwide (except Slovakia)
- Must be accepted by a Slovak university or research institution
Category-Specific:
1. Masterβs Students
- Must study outside Slovakia
- Must have completed at least 2.5 years of university study
- Must be accepted for an academic mobility stay in Slovakia
2. PhD Students
- Must be enrolled outside Slovakia
- Accepted for research/study stay in Slovakia
3. Teachers / Researchers / Artists
- Must be invited by a Slovak institution
- Must meet experience/qualification requirements
Country Eligibility
- All countries worldwide (except Slovak citizens)
Duration of Stay
- Students: 4β10 months (1β2 semesters)
- PhD Students: 1β10 months
- Teachers/Researchers/Artists: 1β10 months
How to Apply
- Secure acceptance or invitation from a Slovak institution
- Prepare required documents (academic, research, or professional)
- Submit your application through the official NSP portal
- Apply for a travel grant (optional) during the application process
Selection Process
Applications are evaluated based on:
- Academic or professional merit
- Quality and relevance of study/research plan
- Alignment with the host institution
- Overall impact and feasibility
Only one application per call is allowed.
Application Deadlines
- 30 April (16:00 CET): For stays in the next academic year
- 31 October (16:00 CET): For summer semester stays
Important Notes
- This scholarship does NOT fund full degree programmes
- Applicants already studying full-time in Slovakia are not eligible
- Cannot be combined with other publicly funded scholarships (e.g., Erasmus+)
- Re-application is allowed only after 2 years (with exceptions)
- Applicants who spent 15+ months in Slovakia in the last 3 years are not eligible
- Non-EU applicants staying longer than 90 days must obtain a residence permit
