2025 NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme: Overview

The NLNG Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme (UGSS) supports exceptional first-year Nigerian undergraduates with the aim of promoting academic excellence and building national human capacity. The 2025 edition is open to students admitted for the 2025/2026 academic year in Nigerian universities.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet all the following:

• Be a Nigerian citizen and currently residing in Nigeria.

• Be a full-time first-year undergraduate in the 2025/2026 session at a federal or state university.

• Have at least five (5) O’Level credits in one sitting (including English & Maths) — WAEC/SSCE/NECO.

• Score a minimum of 200 in the 2025 JAMB UTME.

• Be 18–25 years old at the time of application.

• Must not:

  • Hold any other scholarship, bursary, or grant.

  • Be a spouse, child, ward, or direct relative of NLNG staff.

Application Process

1. Apply Online

   • Visit: ningscholarships.smapply.io/prog/ugss

   • Fill in all required fields.

2. Upload Required Documents

   • Recent passport photograph (no glasses)

   • WAEC/NECO/SSCE result

   • JAMB UTME result

   • JAMB Admission Letter

   • LGA Identification

   • Birth Certificate

3. Selection Test

   • Eligible applicants will take an Online Proctored Computer-Based Test.

   • Only shortlisted candidates will be invited.

4. Post-Test Documentation

   • Candidates who pass the test will be asked to submit additional documents.

5. Award Stage

   • Scholarships will be granted to applicants who satisfy all criteria and successfully pass all stages.

Important Notes

• Monitor NLNG social media channels and newspapers for application dates and deadlines.

• Use a valid email address and check it regularly for updates.

• Incomplete or incorrect applications will not be processed.
