Senior Manager

Description

  • Job Title: Senior Manager – Major Donors
  • Hours: Full-time preferred but part-time considered
  • Location: Street Child London HQ (minimum 3 days per week)
  • Salary: £48,000 – £65,000

Street Child, one of the world’s fastest-growing children’s charities, are searching for a passionate, smart, highly personable fundraising professional to lead our engagement with our most significant private donors and supporters. Additionally, working with development colleagues, we look to this role to help the charity identify, approach and cultivate relationships with new private individuals with the potential to make major contributions to Street Child’s work.

This is a superb opportunity. We have a brilliant proposition for this audience – on the one hand, as a comparatively young, still founder-led organisation, Street Child offer the high-level access, informality and vibe that often draws people to smaller charities; but on the other hand our data-driven programmes, a majority of which are in partnerships with UN agencies or Governments, are of the quality, complexity and scale that you would typically expect only from the world’s largest and most famous charities

This role is for a confident, outcomes-oriented relationship management expert with a highly professional and attentive style, who is excels at understanding people and tailoring their style appropriately.

At the heart of this role lies building great relationships with, and delivering fantastic service to, Street Child’s most significant private supporters – giving them the best possible experience, suited to their style and interests, of the charity and our work; that ultimately motivates them to grow their vital support for the charity.

You will be comfortable, and highly effective, in a range of settings – making presentations, informal meetings, gala and other special event settings and accompanying supporters on field trips to see the impact of their contributions first-hand. You will play a key role in designing the charity’s calendar, thinking of the types of events that will motivate and engage different individuals. Street Child is an entrepreneurial, proposition-led environment – your ideas are what will shape the role.

As mentioned, you will also work to introduce Street Child to new private individuals capable of making highly significant contributions – through research, networking, referral-seeking, targeted approaches and event invitations.

You will have strong written skills and be a team-player – this role will require constant and effective interaction with colleagues across other fundraising teams, programmes and finance.

You will get to know the charity’s major supporters incredibly well, and coupled with excellent judgement you know when to ask, and what to ask for.

It is expected that everyone at Street Child is incredibly passionate about our mission and believes deeply in the power of our programmes – and is thus bold and ambitious in their personal work to drive and scale the charity’s impact. We value agility, innovative thinking and a self-sufficient approach.

We are clear about the personal qualities, described above, that are essential for success in this role – but very open-minded about a candidate’s prior experience. Evidently a track-record of success in a comparable role could be a great platform for this position – but neither is it essential.

This brilliant opportunity, integral to the charity’s ongoing growth, reports to the Development Director, a co-founder. This role is envisaged as working in London most days. We will also consider excellent part-time candidates. To progress your interest in this role, please send your CV and a short cover letter.
