Australia Awards Scholarships (Africa) 2025-2026 Overview

The Australia Awards Scholarships are prestigious international scholarships funded by the Australian Government to support future leaders from eligible African countries. These scholarships enable recipients to pursue postgraduate qualifications at Australian universities, with a focus on advancing knowledge, leadership skills, and contributing to national development.

Australia Awards Scholarships (Africa) 2025-2026 Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be citizens of eligible African countries and residing in their country of citizenship.
• Be at least 25 years old by February 1, 2026.
• Have a minimum of 5 years of post-graduate work experience relevant to their field of study.
• Be currently employed at the time of application.
• Hold an undergraduate degree equivalent to an Australian degree.
• Not already hold or be pursuing a Master’s degree.
• Not have previously received a long-term Australia Award.
• Meet the English language proficiency requirements:
  • IELTS: Minimum 6.5 (with no band lower than 6.0).
  • TOEFL iBT: Minimum 84 (with at least 21 in all sections).
  • PTE Academic: Minimum 58 (with no communicative skill below 50).
