WIPO-ARIPO-Africa University Master’s in Intellectual Property 2025/2026 OverviewÂ
The Master’s in Intellectual Property (MIP) is a prestigious program jointly offered by the WIPO Academy, Africa University (Mutare, Zimbabwe), and the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), with support from the Government of Japan. This program offers a unique combination of theoretical and practical training in IP law, innovation, and management, tailored specifically for African professionals and scholars.
WIPO-ARIPO-Africa University Master’s in Intellectual Property 2025/2026 Eligibility
To apply, candidates must:

Be a national of an African country

Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree (Second Class Lower) in any discipline from a recognized university

Be fluent in English

Have completed DL-101, the free WIPO General Course on IP

May–July 2025: Distance learning phase through the WIPO Academy e-Learning Center (with a final exam)

August–December 2025: Residential phase at Africa University in Mutare, Zimbabwe, including a 2-week practical training at ARIPO headquarters in Harare

December 2025–April 2026: Dissertation phase (remote)

Award
Graduates receive a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property issued by Africa University on behalf of WIPO and ARIPO.
