Job Title: Java Software Developer

The NATO Information and Communication Agency (NCI Agency) located in The Hague, The Netherlands, is currently involved in the development of new capabilities for NATO as well as in the support of existing capabilities. In the light of these activities, the Command and Control Centre is looking for support for the full software development cycle of the NATO Joint Targeting System (JTS) and Functional Area Services for dynamic and time sensitive Targeting (FAST).

Role Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop/update Java software modules.
• Develop/conduct unit and automated testing of software components.
• Develop/update software documentation.
• Attend virtual and in-person meetings.

Essential Skills and Experience

• They have relevant and recent experience of minimum 3 years in Java development.
• They have relevant and recent experience of minimum 3 years in system and software design and development of Graphical User Interface using Java.
• They have relevant and recent experience of minimum 3 years in using development tools (e.g. Maven, Jira, Zephyr, GitLab, Nexus) and methodologies (e.g. Agile).
• They have relevant and recent experience of minimum 3 years in documenting source code and design, online help.
• They have relevant and recent experience of minimum 3 years in continuous software integration and automated testing.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• They have recent experience in supporting the NATO Joint Targeting Cycle (e.g. Targeteer)
• They have recent knowledge and usage of JTS and FAST.
• They have relevant and recent experience of minimum 3 years in implementing functional and non-functional requirements.

Travel

• Some travel to other NATO sites may be required

Security Clearance

• Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance
