OProf. Stefan Banach NAWA Scholarship 2025: Overview

The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, invites students from developing countries to apply for the Prof. Stefan Banach Programme. This scholarship offers fully funded opportunities to pursue second-cycle (Master’s) studies or a preparatory course in Poland starting from the winter semester of the 2025/2026 academic year.

Prof. Stefan Banach NAWA Scholarship 2025: Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be citizens of eligible countries (including Nigeria, India, Ukraine, etc.).

• Be in their final year of undergraduate studies or hold a bachelor’s degree obtained in 2023 or later from one of the eligible countries.

• Not have Polish citizenship and must not have applied for it.

• Not already possess a Master’s degree or equivalent.

• Not have received a previous NAWA scholarship under this program.

• Demonstrate language proficiency:

  • Polish: A2 (for preparatory course) or B2 (for direct Master’s studies), or

  • English: B2 (for studies in English).

Prof. Stefan Banach NAWA Scholarship 2025: Application Requirements

Applicants must submit the following documents:

1. Scan of the passport page with personal data.

2. Bachelor’s degree diploma or a certificate from the university (with average grade and subjects).

3. Proof of participation in the admission process to a Polish university (not required if applying for the preparatory course).

4. Proof of language proficiency in either Polish or English.

5. A 1–3-minute video in Polish or English explaining the motivation for studying in Poland and choice of study field.

6. If documents are in another language, certified translations into Polish or English are required.

Selection Criteria

Applications will be evaluated based on:

• Academic performance (GPA) – up to 70 points.

• Motivation video content – up to 30 points.

  • Clear academic and career goals.

  • Justification for chosen study program and university in Poland.

  • Potential impact of studies on the applicant’s future.

Restrictions

• Only one application per candidate.

• Scholarship is strictly for second-cycle studies.

• Change of study path (Polish or English) is only permitted under exceptional circumstances.
