Undergraduate International Merit Scholarship: Overview
The University of Memphis awards the Undergraduate International Merit Scholarship to exceptional new international undergraduate students enrolling on an F-1 or J-1 visa. This competitive scholarship recognizes academic achievement and covers the tuition difference between international and domestic non-Tennessee resident rates.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:

Be a newly admitted degree-seeking international undergraduate student on an F-1 or J-1 visa.

Meet at least one of the following:

25 ACT or 1200 SAT (or equivalent).

3.25 GPA (U.S. equivalent) in high school as determined by a NACES-approved credential evaluation.

Maintain:

Minimum 12 credit hours per semester.

2.75 GPA in the first two semesters, then 3.0 GPA in subsequent semesters.

Not eligible: Dual citizens, U.S. permanent residents, continuing students, or NCAA-restricted athletes.

NACES-approved credential evaluation (SpanTran or IEE preferred).

Standardized test score report (ACT, SAT, or GRE).

Proof of first semester of enrollment.
