The Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP) is a prestigious, fully funded PhD program jointly offered by Academia Sinica (Taiwan’s top national research institution) and leading Taiwanese universities.

Eligibility

  • Hold a Bachelor’s + Master’s degree OR a direct-entry Bachelor’s degree equivalent to a 4-year science/engineering program

  • Demonstrate strong academic performance

  • Provide proof of English proficiency (TOEFL/IELTS or equivalent)

  • Meet specific requirements set by the chosen TIGP sub-program

  • Submit all required documents through the official TIGP application system

  14. Sustainable Chemical Science and Technology (Joint Program)

Each program includes:

  • Coursework

  • Lab rotations

  • Research proposal development

  • Dissertation research

Application Requirements

Applicants must create an account on the TIGP Online Application System and submit the following:

  • Online application form

  • Academic transcripts

  • Degree certificates

  • Statement of Purpose (SOP)

  • Two–three recommendation letters

  • English proficiency test scores (if applicable)

  • Program-specific documents based on your chosen field

  • Passport bio-page

Note: You can only apply for ONE TIGP program.

Selection Criteria

Applications are evaluated based on:

  • Academic excellence

  • Strength of research background and potential

  • Quality of Statement of Purpose

  • Relevance of experience to the chosen PhD program

  • English proficiency

  • Strength of recommendation letters

Shortlisted applicants may undergo interviews depending on the sub-program.
