Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) 2026: Overview

The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarships (QECS) provide a prestigious opportunity for students from Commonwealth countries to pursue a fully funded two-year Master’s degree in a low or middle-income Commonwealth country. The programme is designed for individuals committed to driving positive change, community development, and global collaboration.

QECS focuses on cultural exchange, academic excellence, and leadership development, helping scholars contribute meaningfully to both their home and host countries.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be a citizen of a Commonwealth country

• Apply to study in a low or middle-income Commonwealth country

• Hold at least a UK 2:1 degree (or equivalent)

• Meet the academic and admission requirements of the chosen course and university

• Demonstrate commitment to community impact and development

Benefits

The scholarship is fully funded and covers:

• Full tuition fees

• Living allowance (stipend) for the duration of study

• Return economy flights to the host country

• One-off arrival allowance

• Research Support Grant (on request and subject to approval)

Application Process

1. Review the list of eligible host countries, universities, and courses

2. Choose one eligible course per application cycle

3. Submit your QECS application via the myACU portal

4. Apply separately for admission to the chosen university

5. Track updates through your myACU account

You may apply once per cycle, but can reapply in future cycles for different countries.

• Application Cycles:

  • Cycle 1: November / December
