Overview

Uppsala University offers highly competitive Master’s scholarships for fee-paying international students applying for English-taught Master’s programmes starting in Autumn 2026. These scholarships are prestigious and limited — only about 2% of applicants are awarded funding each year.

Most scholarships cover 100% of tuition fees, but do not cover living expenses.

1. Uppsala University Global Scholarship

Overview:

A flagship scholarship funded by the Swedish Council for Higher Education for top international students.

Eligibility:

  • Citizens of non-EU/EEA & non-Swiss countries

  • Must demonstrate vulnerability and academic excellence

  • Programme ranked as first choice

4. Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong Scholarship

Overview:
A partial tuition scholarship for students from Hong Kong SAR.

Eligibility:

  • Passport holder of Hong Kong SAR

  • Strong academic profile

  • Programme ranked as first choice

Benefits:

  • Partial tuition fee coverage (amount announced later)

  • Living expenses not covered

Level: Bachelor’s & Master’s programmes

Application Timeline (Autumn 2026 Entry)

  • Scholarship application window:
    16 January – 2 February 2026

  • You must:

    • Apply for your Master’s programme first via UniversityAdmissions.se

    • Submit all documents and the application fee before the deadline
