MTN Foundation and MUSON offer fully funded Diplomas in Music for talented young Nigerians aged 18–35. Applications for 2026/27 are open now and close August 23, 2026. Here’s who qualifies and how to apply.

What Is This Programme?

Since 2006, the MTN Foundation in partnership with the Musical Society of Nigeria (MUSON) has funded talented young Nigerians to earn an internationally recognised Diploma in Music, fully funded, annually.

MUSON is Nigeria’s premier music institution, offering internationally accredited training. An MTN MUSON Diploma is a credential that carries genuine weight in music education, performance, and professional music careers in Nigeria and beyond.

If you have real musical ability and can’t fund the programme yourself, this scholarship removes the financial barrier entirely.

Applications for the 2026/2027 academic year close: 23 August 2026

Who Can Apply?

• Nigerian national
• Aged 18–35 years
• Minimum academic qualification: GCE O’Level or SSCE with credits in five subjects including English Language (not more than 2 sittings)
• Music Practical and Theory: Grade 5 or higher pass certificate from MUSON School of Music or any recognised music examining body — including MUSON, ABRSM, or Trinity (London)

The music grade requirement is the key filter. If you hold a Grade 5 or above from any of these recognised bodies, you meet the music threshold.

What the Scholarship Covers

The programme is fully funded — covering the Diploma in Music at the MUSON School of Music in Lagos.
