Adedeji Scholarship Program 2027: Full Tuition & Accommodation for Intellectually Curious University of Ibadan Students: Deadline July 30

The Lydia Leadership Foundation’s Adedeji Scholarship Program offers full tuition and accommodation for one academic session to 100–300 level students at the University of Ibadan in Economics, Social Sciences, or Arts.

Deadline: July 30, 2026.

What Is the Adedeji Scholarship?

The Adedeji Scholarship Program (ASP) by the Lydia Leadership Foundation Nigeria is for University of Ibadan students who refuse to be defined by a single lane.

It’s not for the student who only studies. It’s for the student who also runs a student club, takes photography seriously, mentors younger students, builds a side project, volunteers in their community, writes, performs, advocates, creates, while maintaining academic credibility.

The scholarship pays full tuition and accommodation for one academic session, renewable for a second session based on exceptional performance. Recipients also join the 1-year ASP Scholars Fellowship, a structured programme for intellectual and leadership development.

Deadline: 30 July 2026 at 11:59 PM WAT

Application Requirements

  • Completed application form
  • Official transcript showing current GPA, OR for 100-level students, original JAMB result slip
  • Personal essay (maximum 250 words) responding to this prompt:

“Share how your curiosity, passion, or interests have led you to pursue meaningful endeavors that may or may not align directly with your course of study. How do you plan to use that perspective in shaping your path after your studies, and what role do you see your current education playing in that journey?”

  • Supporting evidence to strengthen your application (examples: certificates, photographs, articles, project documentation, etc.)

Writing Your Essay: What Actually Works

250 words is tight. Don’t use them to state your intentions — use them to show what you’ve already done.

The question has three parts: what you’ve pursued beyond your coursework, how you plan to carry that into your future, and how your University of Ibadan education fits in. Answer all three, but lead with specificity — a concrete example of something you’ve built, created, led, or contributed is worth more than three paragraphs of general statements about being curious and driven.

The ASP is looking for students whose transcripts and activities together tell a story. Make sure your essay and your supporting evidence tell the same story, with detail.
