PR Strategist at OPay, Lagos, Nigeria

Responsibilities:
- Develop PR and communications strategy in line with business priorities.
- Translate business objectives into clear communication strategies, campaigns and measurable PR programmes.
- Continuously assess public perception, media narratives and stakeholder sentiment to identify opportunities and risks.
- Develop strategic media engagement plans across mainstream, business, broadcast, digital and industry media.
- Monitor emerging issues and provide early warnings before they become major reputation risks.
Requirements
- Strong ability to see the bigger picture and connect communications to business objectives.
- Strong understanding of the Nigerian media landscape and key media players.
- Established relationships with credible journalists and editors across relevant media sectors.
- Proven ability to work calmly and decisively under pressure.
- Strong judgement when dealing with sensitive, fast-moving or reputational issues.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Able to simplify complex issues into clear and compelling messages.
- Strong interpersonal skills and professional maturity.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in any related field.
- 3 – 5+ years of progressive PR/Communications experience.
- Demonstrable experience in reputation management and PR campaigns.
- Proven crisis/issues management experience.
- Experience in financial services, fintech, technology, telecommunications or other highly regulated sectors is an added advantage.
