Africa High Fliers Undergraduate Scholarships 2025 Overview

The University of Birmingham is offering 15 scholarships worth £5,000 each to outstanding undergraduate students from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa. These scholarships support international students commencing full-time undergraduate programs at the UK campus in September 2025. The awards aim to recognize high academic performance and are jointly offered in collaboration with the University’s local representatives in each eligible country.

Africa High Fliers Undergraduate Scholarships 2025 Eligibility

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be domiciled (habitually resident) in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, or South Africa.

  • Have received and accepted an offer for a full-time undergraduate program at the University of Birmingham (UK campus) starting September 2025.

  • Select University of Birmingham as their firm choice via UCAS.

  • Be classified as an overseas fee payer for tuition purposes.

  • Not be applying for MBChB Medicine and Surgery or BDS Dental Surgery programs.

  • Be registered with one of the University’s local representatives and have their application submitted through them.

  • Meet the academic conditions of their offer.

  • Be able to fund their remaining tuition fees and living costs, including travel and visa expenses.

  • Pay their net first-year tuition fees by 1 November 2025 after enrolling.

  • Not currently be studying at the University of Birmingham.

Africa High Fliers Undergraduate Scholarships 2025 Benefits

  • £5,000 scholarship towards first-year tuition fees.

Application Requirements

  • Conditional or unconditional offer from the University of Birmingham.

  • Selection of Birmingham as firm UCAS choice.

  • Proof of residency and eligibility country.

  • Proof of registration with a listed local representative.

  • Submission of the scholarship application through a local representative by 27 June 2025.

Selection Criteria

  • Academic merit is the primary selection criterion.

  • In the case of a tie, shortlisted candidates may be invited for a virtual interview.

Restrictions

  • Not open to applicants for MBChB Medicine and Surgery or BDS Dental Surgery.

  • Not available to students already studying at the University.

  • Cannot be combined with other scholarships from the University of Birmingham.

  • Scholarship cannot be deferred to another academic year.

Application Process

  1. Apply to a full-time undergraduate course at the University of Birmingham (UK campus).

  2. Accept the offer and choose Birmingham as your firm choice.

  3. Contact and register with a University-approved local representative in your country.

  4. Submit your scholarship application through the local representative before 27 June 2025.

  5. Wait for selection results, expected to be announced in early July 2025.

  6. If selected, enrol in September 2025 and pay net tuition fees by 1 November 2025.
