Canadian International Development Scholarships 2030  Overview

The Canadian International Development Scholarships 2030 (BCDI 2030) program offers quality education and training opportunities in Canada, including vocational and technical training.

Funded by Global Affairs Canada, this eight-year program (2022-2030) is designed to:

• Increase access to higher education

• Support social and economic development in the 26 eligible partner countries

• Reduce inequalities and align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Approximately 600 scholars will receive study and training scholarships in Canada, with at least 51% of recipients being women. After completing their studies, scholars are expected to contribute to the social and economic development of their home countries.

Canadian International Development Scholarships 2030 Eligibility

• Eligibility is not on an individual basis. Instead, applications must go through a partnership project between:

  • A Canadian Higher Education Institution (HEI) and

  • A Higher Education Institution (HEI) from one of the 26 eligible countries

• Canadian HEIs and their partners will:

  • Launch the call for scholarship applications

  • Select recipients based on their own selection criteria, in accordance with BCDI 2030 program guidelines and admission requirements

Canadian International Development Scholarships 2030 Application Process

Individuals cannot apply directly to the BCDI 2030 program. Instead:

1. Candidates must apply through international partner institutions.

2. Each Canadian HEI and its partner HEI will set specific requirements and procedures.
