Overview

The Cardiff University Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship offers £3,500 to £10,000 in tuition fee discounts to outstanding international students beginning postgraduate taught programmes in September 2025 or January 2026. The award recognises academic excellence and aims to support talented students from around the world.

Eligibility

To qualify, you must:

  • Hold an offer for an eligible postgraduate taught programme at Cardiff University.

  • Be classified as an international (overseas) student.

  • Meet or exceed all academic and English language conditions by the required deadline.

  • Pay any required deposit and accept your offer by the deadline stated on your offer letter.

You’ll automatically be considered for the scholarship — no separate application is required.

Eligible Countries & Award Amounts

  • £3,500 Awards: Countries including India, Ghana, Germany, France, Malaysia, USA, Canada, South Africa, and many others.

  • £6,000 Awards: Egypt, Greece, Jordan, Kenya, Mexico, Pakistan, Taiwan, and Cyprus.

  • £10,000 Awards: Nigeria and Bangladesh.

Key Dates

For September 2025 entry:

  • Apply by 31 July 2025

  • Meet all offer conditions by late August 2025

For January 2026 entry:

  • Apply by 10 December 2025

  • Meet the offer conditions by 17 December 2025

  • Scholarship eligibility is separate from admission eligibility.

  • You must meet the published minimum entry requirements for your course exactly as stated.

  • Awards cannot be combined with other Cardiff University scholarships.

  • Cardiff University reserves the right to assess eligibility based on published academic standards.
