DAAD EPOS Scholarship 2026: Overview

The DAAD EPOS Scholarship supports outstanding candidates from developing countries to pursue a 2-year Master’s in Agricultural Economics at the University of Hohenheim, Germany. The program equips students with the knowledge to tackle global agricultural, economic, and development challenges.

DAAD EPOS Scholarship 2026: Eligibility

  • Citizen of a developing country (as per DAAD list).

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (must be less than 6 years old).

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience after graduation.

    • Work in academia usually not accepted, except in rare cases.

  • English proficiency: IELTS (min. 6.5) or TOEFL iBT (min. 90).

  • Must not have lived in Germany for more than 15 months by deadline.

  • Strong development-related motivation.

  • CV (Europass format).

  • Motivation Letter (max 2 pages, tailored to development goals).

  • Employer Recommendation + guarantee of re-employment preferred.

  • Employment Certificates proving 2+ years experience.

  • Proof of English proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL only).

  • Diploma & Transcripts (with grading scale + certified translation if needed).

  • Secondary school certificate (University Entrance Qualification).

  • Ranking Letter (if GPA is below average).

  • APS Certificate (for India, China, Vietnam).

Application Process

🔹 Two Applications Required:

  1. DAAD Scholarship Documents → Email to agecon@uni-hohenheim.de by Dec 15.

    • Attach PDFs (properly labeled: Surname Name – Document Type).

    • Subject: “DAAD + HohCampus Application Number”.

  2. AgEcon Program Application → Submit via HohCampus online portal (opens mid-November).

    • Deadline: Dec 15 (for EPOS applicants).

Timeline

  • Nov 15 – Dec 15 → Application window.

  • February → Selection results.

  • August → German language course begins.

  • October → Master’s program starts.
