Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship 2026: Overview
The Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship is the University of Nottingham’s flagship program established in 2001 to support students from Africa, South Asia, and other selected Commonwealth countries. The scholarship provides 50 percent or 100 percent tuition fee coverage for one-year full-time master’s programs. It aims to empower innovative students who can develop impactful solutions to challenges in their home countries across economic, environmental, structural, social, or political sectors.
Developing Solutions Masters Scholarship 2026: Eligibility
Applicants must:

Be domiciled in Africa, India, or one of the eligible Commonwealth countries

Be classified as an overseas student for fee purposes

Hold an offer to begin a full-time master’s (including MRes) at the University of Nottingham UK for the 2026/2027 academic year
-
Be applying to study within the Faculty of Engineering, Medicine and Health Sciences, Science, or Social Sciences
Applicants are not eligible if they:

Are current or former students of the University of Nottingham

Have studied or earned a degree outside their home country (with exceptions considered case-by-case)

I am currently studying in the United Kingdom
Eligible Countries
All African nations and selected Commonwealth countries, including India, Bangladesh, Jamaica, Malaysia, Pakistan, Trinidad and Tobago, and others.

Application Criteria
Applicants will be evaluated based on:

Their vision and tangible plan for developing solutions that address key challenges in their home country

How their chosen course aligns with their proposed solution

Clarity, originality, and practical impact of their proposed idea

Academic merit and motivation for studying at Nottingham
Application Process

Apply and obtain an offer for a full-time master’s or MRes program at the University of Nottingham.

Pay the required application fee for the degree.

Once you receive your offer, submit your scholarship application through the NottinghamHub portal.

For MRes applicants, email the scholarships team at scholarship-assistant@nottingham.ac.uk for guidance.
Selection and Award

Applications will be assessed based on innovation, impact, and academic excellence.

Successful applicants will be notified by the end of May 2026.

Awards will be deducted directly from tuition fees (not paid in cash).

Scholarships cannot be combined with other University of Nottingham awards; the highest-value scholarship will apply.
