Who Can Apply
Applicants must:

Be international students requiring an F-1 or J-1 visa

Be currently in secondary/high school and graduating by June 2026

Have not started any post-secondary education

Have graduated secondary school no earlier than 2023

Demonstrate leadership, volunteerism, and community service

Meet AU’s English language proficiency requirements
Not eligible if:

Priority is given to applicants who:

How to Apply (2-Step Process)
Deadline: 15 January 2026
1️⃣ Submit the Common Application to American University
2️⃣ Complete the AU EGL Scholarship application and essays via the applicant portal
(Step 1 must be completed before Step 2)
Additional requirements include:

Proof of minimum US$4,000 (bank letter + AU Declaration of Finances)
