Overview

The Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) for Secondary Educators 2026 is a fully funded, prestigious U.S. government fellowship for experienced secondary school teachers and education administrators from outside the United States. The programme runs for five weeks in summer 2026 at U.S. universities and focuses on American history, society, institutions, and the America250 initiative, celebrating U.S. excellence and innovation.

Programme Type

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be non-U.S. citizens (U.S. citizens and green card holders are not eligible)

• Be secondary school teachers or administrators (students aged 14–18)

• Be mid-career, experienced, and highly motivated

• Have strong English proficiency

• Have limited or no prior experience in the U.S.

• Demonstrate plans to improve or develop American studies-related courses

• Be willing to fully participate in an intensive academic schedule
