Fully Funded Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships 2025: Overview
The Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships are fully funded awards provided by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) in partnership with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). They aim to support talented and motivated individuals from low- and middle-income Commonwealth countries to undertake a full-time taught Master’s degree at a UK university. The scholarships are designed for candidates who could not otherwise afford to study in the UK and focus on building skills for sustainable development.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be a citizen of, or have refugee status from, an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person.
- Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
- Be available to start academic studies in the UK by September/October 2026.
- Demonstrate financial need (unable to study in the UK without the scholarship).
Benefits
- Full tuition fees (covered by agreement between CSC and UK universities).
- Return airfare from your home country to the UK.
- Living allowance of £1,378 per month (2025–2026 rate).
- Warm clothing allowance (if applicable).
- Study travel grant for study-related travel in the UK or abroad.
- Child allowance: £590 per month for the first child, £146 for the second and third child (under 16, if living in the UK with the scholar).
- Disability support, following a needs-based assessment.
