Overview
The Master of Science in Health Professions Education (MSc-HPE) at the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE), Rwanda, is an 18-month fully funded postgraduate program under the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program. It equips health educators and leaders with the skills to design, deliver, and evaluate innovative and equitable health education programs across Africa.
This blended program (online + in-person) focuses on transforming healthcare education through equity, leadership, and innovation. It is ideal for educators, clinicians, and policymakers who aspire to influence institutional and national health education systems.
Eligibility

Must be 35 years or younger at the time of application (exceptions for applicants with disabilities).

Must be a citizen, resident, or refugee in an African country.

Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field.

Should have experience in teaching, supervision, or educational leadership in a health institution (early-career educators with teaching potential are also eligible).

Must provide an institutional endorsement letter confirming support and time availability.

Applicants already holding a master’s degree are not eligible for this scholarship.
