The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) is a highly competitive, fully funded master’s scholarship for professionals from developing countries who are committed to contributing to their countries’ social and economic development. Scholarship Coverage
The JJ/WBGSP is fully funded and includes:

Eligibility Criteria (Summary)
Applicants must:
-
Be a citizen of a World Bank member developing country
-
Not hold dual citizenship of a developed country
-
Be in good health
-
Hold a bachelor’s degree obtained at least 3 years before the application deadline
-
Have at least 3 years of paid, full-time development-related work experience (with limited exceptions for fragile/conflict states)
-
Be currently employed in development-related work
-
Be unconditionally admitted (except for funding) to at least one JJ/WBGSP participating master’s program outside their country of citizenship and residence
-
Not be a World Bank Group staff member or close relative
-
Not have previously declined or failed to complete a JJ/WBGSP award
All eligibility rules are strictly enforced—no exceptions.

The scholarship runs in two rounds:

The application link is only sent to candidates who:

Are admitted to a participating program, and
-
Are officially shortlisted by the university as JJ/WBGSP-eligible.
Post-Scholarship Commitment
After graduation, scholars must return to their home country to apply their skills toward national development efforts.
