3D Character Artist

About the job

Neighbour Short Film is looking for a 3D character artist who is able to join our diverse team! Neighbour is an animated film being produced by LMR filmed based out of London with an international team. The 3D character artist will bring life to the concepts designed for the film by creating the models and rigs for the animation phase.

Skills

– Great interpersonal skills; humility and respect when receiving comments from your team.

– Knowledge of industry standard software packages such as Maya, 3DSMax, Photoshop etc.

– Competency in 3D modeling for animation.

– Competency in 3D rigging for biped characters and props.

– Understanding of art asset pipelines.

– Ability to understand and communicate technical issues from an aesthetic point of view. – Bonus: 3D Character Animation Skills.

Tasks

– Create unique character models with outfit variations and generic side characters with variations.

– Create various props, with some being rigged and ready for animation.

– Present models which are skinned and ready for rigging for animation.

– Design and apply textures to the characters to enhance their visual appeal.

– Source, create and/or develop processes to deal with cloth, hair and other animation requirements.

– Present completed character models in T pose and prop models (on turntables).
