Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payable specialist position is a new role in our growing International accounting department, reporting directly to the International Accounting Senior Manager. This role will have a direct hand in crafting and developing the international finance function and do so with scale and growth in mind.
What you’ll do at Figma
- Process invoices on a weekly basis across multiple companies and currencies. Understanding account coding, VAT rates and intercompany costs is required
- Manage the international accounts payable mailboxes to ensure that all vendor queries and invoices are dealt with
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Perform weekly payment runs for all international entities
- Manage cash requirements in advance of payment runs for all bank accounts
- Manage reconciliation of the accounts payable ledger on a monthly basis
- Review all employee expenses in line with the expense policy
- Partner closely with the US Accounts Payable team to ensure alignment to company expectations and standards
- Supporting the Fixed Asset and Prepaid accounting process. Hands-on performance of month-end close activities.
- High tolerance for a fast-paced working environment, ability to meet tight deadlines
- Support specific accounting projects related to automation and continuous improvement of the accounting and finance functions
- Build and handle strong business partnerships with key budget owners
- Support ad-hoc activities and projects as they arise
We’d love to hear if you have:
- An experienced Accounts Payable specialist with a strong understanding and experience of Accounts Payable controls and processes.
- Part/ Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ ACCA)
- Excellent MS office skills
- Experience in running and improving accounts payable processes
- Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams
- Self-starter and independent thinker with desire to work in a fast-paced scaling international organization
- Experience working in various accounting systems (NetSuite and Coupa is a plus)
- Experience in US GAAP month end close preparation and procedures (is a plus)
