**Competitive Salary**

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and hardworking individual with experience in public sector finance to join an established finance team. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, reconciling accounts and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. Based at our head office in Rochdale, the ideal candidate will have a good understanding of SAGE 50 and have excellent organizational skills.

The Job

  • Reconcile accounts and maintain accurate records.
  • Prepare & process VAT Returns
  • Prepare financial statements and reports.
  • Maintain accounts payable and receivable.
  • Assist in budget preparation and analysis.
  • Record all financial information using SAGE 50
  • Preparing financial statements showing business income and expenditure
  • Verifying the accuracy of business accounts and alerting the Accountant of errors
  • Helping the Management Accountant with administrative duties and preparing yearly accounts
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.


  • Strong bookkeeping experience, at least 2 years of working on a variety of accounts.
  • Part Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/AAT/CIMA) – desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience using SAGE 50 is advantageous
  • Advanced Excel & Reporting skills.
  • Strong organisational & IT skills
  • Thorough understanding of management information systems and MS Office
  • Proactive with the ability to prioritise workload & meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to handle sensitive data professionally & maintain confidentiality.
  • A problem-solver with attention to detail
