Ready At Dawn is looking for talented and passionate Combat Engineer to join us in creating high profile original AAA titles. Combat Engineers code enemy AI, weapons, character controls, and other systems to make engaging combat in video games. Combat Engineers partner with our design and art teams to create compelling in-game experiences.
Combat Engineer – Ready at Dawn Responsibilities

Architect, design, and implement robust software systems

Collaborate with designers and artists to achieve a shared combat vision

Create usable tools, scripts, and components to empower content creators

Research and solve difficult engineering problems

Strive to add the extra polish to our combat that truly sets games apart
Minimum Qualifications
-
3+ years of professional game development experience in a gameplay capacity
-
Experience contributing to gameplay systems, such as player controls, game rules, scripting, weapons, and AI

Experienced with C++

Demonstrate knowledge of software engineering practices

Solid understanding of 3D mathematics

Problem solving and debugging skills

Experience writing well-structured, readable code
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with full-cycle game development

Understand all aspects of game programming including rendering and physics

$116,000/year to $168,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
Please note the national salary range listed in the job posting reflects the new hire salary range across levels and U.S. locations that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s final level and final location. Also, this range represents base salary only and does not include the company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity, or benefits , if applicable.
