About the role:
The Events and Communications Associate will be crucial in developing and executing comprehensive event and communication strategies to enhance Kora’s brand visibility and engagement. This individual will be responsible for planning, organising, and overseeing various events, as well as crafting compelling communications to convey our message to target our ideal customer profiles ( ICPs) effectively.
Our marketing team, where you’ll be working, actively collaborates with product managers, engineers, the sales team and more to ensure the Kora vision is brought to life.
In collaboration with cross-functional teams, you are essential to ensuring that Kora’s brand messaging and tone of voice are consistent across various platforms.
Requirements
What you’ll be doing:
1. Event Planning and Execution:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute virtual and in-person events, including webinars, conferences, product launches, developer events and corporate gatherings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of events, from conceptualisation to post-event analysis.
- Manage event logistics, including venue selection, catering, audiovisual setup, and coordination of materials.
2. Communication Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy to promote Kora’s brand and products.
- Create compelling content for various channels, including press releases, blog posts, social media, and newsletters.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align communication efforts with overall marketing objectives.
3. Media Relations:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
- Pitch stories and press releases to secure media coverage and positive exposure for the company.
4. Content Creation:
- Generate engaging and informative content for both internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate with design and content teams to produce visually appealing materials for events and communications.
5. Metrics and Analysis:
- Track and analyze the performance of events and communication efforts, providing insights for continuous improvement.
- Utilize data to measure the impact of campaigns and make data-driven recommendations.
What you’ll need:
You are qualified if you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in event planning and execution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with fintech industry trends and terminology.
- Ability to multitask, plan and prioritize own work under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, event management tools, and social media platforms.
- Interpersonal skills for building and developing relationships with people and an ability to influence stakeholders.
- Ability to work on multiple projects with different objectives simultaneously.
- You are exceptionally driven and autonomous.
- You are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment – because we are a startup, we need someone who can easily adapt and work quickly to achieve results.
- You bring positive energy, are comfortable with change and can manage your workload effectively.
Reporting Structure: This role reports to the Head, Marketing.

The aim is to understand you better and assess the alignment of your beliefs and values with Kora’s distinctive culture. We’d like to emphasize that there are no right or wrong answers expected. However, we encourage you to maintain a positive attitude during this session.

Working hours
Given that we are an all-remote company and hire almost anywhere in the world, we don’t have a location requirement for this role. However, your working hours must coincide with 9:00 am – 5:00 pm WAT for at least 40 hours/week.
