We are advertising for a position within our Routing Team. You will work within the team to help build the tools that are responsible for the generation of delivery routes across our warehouses. You will liaise with our data scientists to build, maintain, test and enhance the algorithms that generate the most efficient routes for our drivers. You will also help define the interfaces that expose our services to other teams.
The team develops primarily in Python, so a solid knowledge of the language and main libraries is mandatory. Experience bringing algorithms and machine learning techniques into production is desirable, particularly within a Kubernetes environment.
How you’ll make an impact:
- Develop the codes that constitute Odeko’s routing service; improve efficiency of our routing algorithms and the wider services.
- Help develop tools that allow us to monitor key performance indicators and failure mechanisms.
- Contribute to the implementation of new service options and assist in designing robust, extensible architectural patterns.
- Build and extend existing test suites.
- Deliver proof of concept work to help inform decisions and planning.
- Utilize tools and working practices to achieve quality and confidence in your work.
- Depending on the task at-hand, you will need to be capable of working independently or as part of a wider, potentially cross-functional team.
About you:
- Computer science background or related field with a focus in algorithm development.
- 3+ years software engineering experience on the backend, ideally in a microservices landscape.
- Experience using Python, relational databases, and CI/CD techniques
- Familiarity with the technologies used in the Odeko tech stack; you are also aware of their limitations and competing technologies.
- Experience of software engineering best practices and building resilient software.
