Investment Manager at OPay, Lagos, Nigeria
The Investment Manager will work closely with the Head of Investment to support and execute the company’s investment strategy. The role is responsible for end-to-end execution of approved investment transactions, partner engagement, documentation, and operational coordination, while ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work under the guidance of the Head of Investment to execute approved investment transactions from decision finalization through closure.
- Drive end-to-end transaction execution, including investment communication, documentation preparation, confirmation, and proper archiving.
- Ensure all investment transactions follow internal control processes and are fully closed-loop.
- Maintain daily communication with investment partners, financial institutions, and counterparties.
- Identify potential funding needs and support investment planning activities.
- Conduct market, product, and investment research to support decision-making.
- Assist in preparing investment-related materials for internal reviews, audits, and external regulatory examinations.
- Coordinate with partners and stakeholders to facilitate audit processes and information requests.
- Gather local business requirements and translate them into structured system and operational needs.
- Liaise with Product, Asset & Liability Management, and other relevant teams to ensure investment operations are well-aligned.
- Support ongoing process improvements within the investment function.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in investment management, treasury, corporate finance, banking, fintech, or asset management.
- Strong understanding of investment operations, transaction execution, and financial instruments.
- Experience working with financial partners, banks, or institutional counterparties.
- Close attention to detail with strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, regulated environment is an advantage.
