Job Title: Mobile Developer

As a Mobile Developer at Colonist, you’ll do more than just write code – you’ll be a product-minded engineer who shapes the future of our products. You’ll work closely with players, designers, and other developers to identify problems, design solutions, and implement features that impact millions of users. You’ll play a crucial role in creating polished, high-quality digital board games in a fast-paced environment where your updates will reach 100,000+ players within days.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain features across our entire stack, from database to frontend
• Solve bugs and product issues, ensuring a seamless user experience
• Collaborate through GitHub by reviewing pull requests, upholding code quality and best practices.
• Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code that’s accessible to developers of varying experience levels.
• Leverage data insights to drive informed technical and product decisions, contributing to the app’s growth and success.
• Continuously optimize application performance and scalability, ensuring it meets the demands of a growing user base.

Requirements

• +2 years of experience as a developer
• Proficiency with Typescript, React Native, RESTful APIs and Clean Code Architectures
• Working knowledge of Expo, Git, Figma and EAS
• Strong portfolio demonstrating multiple projects
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to find innovative solutions quickly
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
• Track record of shipping features in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to read and implement solutions from technical documentation
• Be a gamer with strong judgment and intuition

Nice to Have

• Working knowledge of the app lifecycle, including building, testing, and deploying production versions.
• Experience with SQL and data analysis
• Proficiency in writing automated tests
