Background

As a security sector-reforms Partnerships Coordinator, your primary responsibility will be to foster and manage strategic partnerships and collaborations for our organization. You will play a vital role in developing and maintaining relationships with our core stakeholders, and other government agencies, donors, non-profits, and civil society organizations. Your goal will be to identify partnership opportunities, negotiate agreements, and coordinate activities to drive mutual success and to achieve the project’s objectives.

Responsibilities

1. Partnership Development:

• Identify potential partnership opportunities and cultivate relationships with relevant organizations, businesses, and individuals.
• Conduct research to understand potential partners’ goals, initiatives, and areas of alignment with our organization.
• Collaborate with core stakeholders to define partnership objectives and strategies.
• Present partnership proposals and recommendations to senior management.

2. Partnership Management:

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing partners, serving as the main point of contact.
• Coordinate and facilitate regular communication with partners, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are managed effectively.
• Monitor partnership performance and provide regular progress reports to core stakeholders.
• Identify and address any challenges or conflicts that may arise, working towards resolution in a timely manner.

3. Collaboration and Negotiation:

• Collaborate with partners to develop joint initiatives, campaigns, and projects that align with organizational goals.
• Negotiate partnership agreements, including terms, objectives, and deliverables.
• Ensure that all partnership agreements are documented, executed, and maintained accurately.

4. Cross-functional Coordination:

• Work closely with internal teams, such as the Research & Innovation and the Programmes & Communications teams to align partnership activities with organizational objectives.
• Coordinate and communicate internally to ensure smooth implementation of partnership initiatives.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration among internal teams and external partners.

5. Monitoring and Evaluation:

• Develop and implement metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of partnership initiatives.
• Regularly evaluate partnerships against established goals and KPIs, making recommendations for improvements or adjustments as necessary.
• Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in partnership development and management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, or a related field (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
• Proven experience in partnership development, management, or a related role.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to establish rapport and credibility with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate ideas and proposals effectively.
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management tools, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of the Nigeria Police Reform initiative, the Nigeria Police Act 2020 and organizations working within the Police reform space would be an added advantage.
