Senior Rust Engineer

At micro1, We are seeking a skilled and passionate Rust developer to join our team. As a Rust developer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient and reliable software applications using the Rust programming language. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet our clients’ needs. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Rust development, a solid understanding of software engineering principles, and the ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product owners, designers, and other developers to understand software requirements and translate them into efficient and reliable Rust code.
• Design, develop, and maintain software applications using the Rust programming language.
• Write clean, readable, and well-documented code that adheres to best practices and coding standards.
• Conduct thorough testing of software applications to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and debug issues, and implement effective solutions.
• Participate in code reviews to provide and receive constructive feedback to improve code quality.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in Rust development and software engineering practices.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Strong proficiency in Rust programming language.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with developing and maintaining complex software applications using Rust.
• Familiarity with software development tools such as Git, Jira, and Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of network programming, concurrency, and parallelism in Rust.
• Experience with web development frameworks and libraries in Rust (e.g., Rocket, Actix).
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Must have techs:

Rust, time series databases (TimescaleDB, or others), event-based messaging platforms (Redpanda, Kafka, Aeron), Trading and Risk Management experience (can be treated as nice to have, if can’t find good engineers with it)
