About the Opportunity: At Sagent, we are a leading mortgage servicing, SaaS-based, financial technical company dedicated to providing innovative solutions and exceptional service to our clients. As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a highly experienced and strategic individual to join our compliance department as Vice President of Compliance. The Vice President of Compliance will be responsible for oversight of the compliance program for our newly developed mortgage servicing solutions.  This role is responsible for the oversight and management of compliance functionality, including coordination with product and engineering teams responsible for product delivery. The Vice President of Compliance will contribute to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies, and practices, while providing leadership and oversight in support of the organization’s mission.

Your day-to-day at Sagent:

Strategic Direction:

• Set the strategic direction for delivery of compliance functionality, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
• Take an enterprise-wide perspective to identify and address compliance risks and opportunities.

Oversight and Management:

• Provide oversight and management for the Compliance group.
• Ensure timely and appropriate responses to inquiries from prospective and current customers.

Policy Development and Implementation:

• Contribute to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies, and practices.
• Formulate, implement, and administer policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Operations and Resource Planning:

• Manage daily operations of the compliance function, ensuring efficient use of materials and human resources.
• Plan and allocate resources effectively to support compliance initiatives and objectives.

Leadership and Oversight:

• Provide leadership and oversight in support of the organization’s mission, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Offer strategic direction and vision for compliance-related products and services within the organization.

Regulatory Monitoring and Problem Solving:

• Stay current with regulatory changes and industry developments, ensuring the company remains compliant and proactive in addressing emerging risks.
• Identify opportunities to develop compliance functionality that solves industry pain points and results in a better experience for consumers and system users.

We would love to hear from you if you have: 

• Completion of a bachelor’s degree in business administration or a relevant discipline plus 10 years of experience in a related field, or completion of an advanced degree (masters or higher) in an applicable and relevant field plus 7 years of related experience in an applicable field.
• Proven experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles, preferably within the financial services or technology sectors.
• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to oversee multiple teams and functions.
• Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and lead at all levels of the organization.
