Radboud Scholarship Programme 2026: Overview

The Radboud Scholarship Programme (RSP) is a highly selective scholarship offered by Radboud University, the Netherlands, for exceptional non-EU/non-EEA students admitted to an English-taught Master’s programme. The scholarship significantly reduces tuition costs and supports visa- and insurance-related expenses.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Hold a non-EU/non-EEA passport

  • Be ineligible for EU/EEA tuition fees

  • Have obtained (or will obtain) a Bachelor’s degree outside the Netherlands

  • Have no prior degree education in the Netherlands (exchange programmes excluded)

  • Meet the English language requirements of the chosen Master’s programme

  • Be fully admitted to an English-taught Master’s starting 1 September 2026

  • Be able to meet Dutch visa requirements

  • Enrol as a full-time student at Radboud University

Benefits

The scholarship provides:

  • Tuition fee reduction to €2,695 per year
    (instead of approx. €18,000, depending on programme)

  • Coverage of:

    • Visa and residence permit costs

    • Health and liability insurance (Aon Student Insurance)

Not covered:

  • Living expenses

  • Study and accommodation costs

Scholarship Type

  • Partial scholarship

Duration

  • Covers the nominal duration of the Master’s programme

  • For two-year Master’s programmes, continuation into year two requires passing all first-year courses

Available Scholarships (2026/2027)

Maximum of 33 scholarships, allocated across faculties:

  • Faculty of Arts – 4

  • Faculty of Law – 4

  • Nijmegen School of Management – 6

  • Faculty of Philosophy, Theology & Religious Studies – 3

  • Faculty of Science – 8

  • Faculty of Social Sciences – 8

Eligible Programmes

  • All English-taught Master’s programmes

  • Excludes Erasmus Mundus and joint-degree Master’s programmes

Application Process

  • Apply during your Master’s programme application via the OSIRIS Application System

  • Indicate interest in the Radboud Scholarship

  • Upload three additional documents:

    • Two reference letters

    • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Admission and scholarship selection are separate processes.

Selection Criteria

Applicants are assessed based on:

  • Academic excellence (grades, test scores, publications)

  • Relevance of prior degree to chosen Master’s

  • Ranking/reputation of previous institution

  • Motivation and ambition

  • Extracurricular activities (internships, volunteering, leadership)

  • Strength of reference letters

  • Possible interviews, depending on the programme

Important Dates

  • Application deadline (OSIRIS): 31 January 2026 (23:59 CET)

  • Complete application deadline: 14 February 2026 (23:59 CET)

  • Final decision: Before mid-April 2026

  • Programme start: September 2026

Additional Information

  • The scholarship can be combined with the NL Scholarship

  • Funded by Radboud University Profiling Fund
