Eligibility Criteria

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Be an African student
  • Apply for a full-time MSc (taught) programme
  • Meet or exceed academic entry requirements
  • Meet UK visa requirements
  • Hold an offer from RAU for:
    • September 2026 OR
    • January 2027 intake
  • Be a fee-paying student

Country-Based Award Breakdown

For Students from Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda, Uganda, South Africa, Zimbabwe:

  • £4,000 → Degree equivalent to UK 2:1 or above
  • £3,000 → Meets minimum entry requirements

For Students from Other African Countries:

  • £3,000 → Degree equivalent to UK 2:1 or above
  • £2,000 → Meets minimum entry requirements

How to Apply

  1. Apply for an MSc programme at RAU
  2. Receive an offer (conditional or unconditional)
  3. Complete the online scholarship application form
  4. Submit all required academic and supporting documents

Selection Process

  • Applicants will be notified of eligibility within 2 weeks of applying
  • Shortlisting occurs after:
    • Accepting the university offer
    • Paying the required deposit
  • Final selection is based on:
    • Academic performance
    • Leadership potential
    • Contribution to agriculture and sustainability

Important Notes

  • Only one RAU scholarship can be held at a time
  • The award is applied towards tuition fees only
  • Final decisions are made by the Scholarship Committee
  • All decisions are final and non-appealable
