Seoul National University SSBT Scholarship 2026: Overview

The Seoul National University – Samsung SDI Battery Track (SSBT) Scholarship 2026 is a prestigious industry-academia program designed to train future leaders in the battery and secondary battery field. Jointly run by SNU and Samsung SDI, the program offers full scholarship benefits, overseas training, research opportunities, and guaranteed employment at Samsung SDI upon graduation.

Seoul National University SSBT Scholarship 2026: Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be prospective or current students applying for the 2026 SNU Graduate School Master’s program, or Ph.D. students who have completed coursework.

• Have at least two semesters remaining in their program at the time of application.

• Be pursuing studies in battery/secondary battery-related majors within the following departments:

  • Materials Science and Engineering

  • Chemical and Biological Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Electrical and Computer Engineering

  • Chemistry (College of Natural Sciences)

• Students from other departments with a battery-related focus are also eligible.

• Intend to seek employment with Samsung SDI after graduation.

Selection Criteria

• Academic performance (transcripts).

• Relevance of research/major to battery and secondary battery fields.

• Commitment to working with Samsung SDI.

• More than 70% of scholarships will be awarded to Master’s students, while up to 30% will go to Ph.D. students who have completed coursework.

Application Process

3. Applications will be evaluated by the SNU-SSBT selection committee.

4. Successful candidates will be notified individually in November 2025.

5. For Ph.D. applicants, final confirmation requires passing Samsung SDI recruitment.
