Overview

The Australian National University (ANU) offers the Chancellor’s International Scholarship to high-achieving international students who wish to begin their undergraduate or postgraduate studies in Australia.
This prestigious award is designed to attract talented students from around the world to pursue their academic goals at one of Australia’s top universities.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be classified as international students under the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000.

• Have received an offer of admission to study an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate program at ANU.

• Not hold a 995 visa (unless enrolling in an eligible postgraduate program).

• Not have received this award previously for the same level of study.

• Not be funded by another external scholarship or sponsorship covering tuition fees.

This scholarship is not available for students applying for the Doctor of Medicine and Surgery (MChD) or Master of Military and Defence Studies.

Scholarship Categories

The scholarship is distributed across nine categories, each tailored to different regions:

• Undergraduate and Postgraduate (general)

• India

• Indonesia

• Vietnam

• South East Asia (25% or 50%)

• Europe, Central & South America (25% or 50%)

Selection Criteria

Selection is based strictly on academic merit.
All qualifications submitted for admission will be evaluated and converted to a common scale, and applicants will be ranked accordingly.
Candidates are automatically considered for the highest-value award for which they are eligible.

Application Process

• No separate scholarship application is required.

• All eligible students who apply for admission to ANU will be automatically assessed for the scholarship.

• Successful candidates will be notified of their offer of admission.

Number of Awards

• Approximately 200 scholarships are available each year.
