Westminster Postgraduate Sanctuary Scholarship 2025: Overview

The Postgraduate Sanctuary Scholarship at the University of Westminster provides life-changing financial and academic support to asylum seekers residing in the United Kingdom. This scholarship ensures that students who are not eligible for Student Finance can still pursue a postgraduate degree in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Westminster Postgraduate Sanctuary Scholarship 2025: Eligibility

To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

• Hold an offer for a full-time master’s course starting in January 2026 at the University of Westminster.

• Be a resident in the United Kingdom.

• Possess one of the following eligible immigration statuses:

  • UK asylum seeker

  • UK discretionary leave to remain (as a result of an asylum application)

  • UK limited leave to remain (as a result of an asylum application)

• Not already hold a master’s degree.

• Not be eligible for postgraduate loans from Student Finance.

Not Eligible:

• Postgraduate Diploma students

• Professional course students (e.g., RIBA Pt III, ACCA, CIMA, CiLEX)

• Conversion course students (e.g., Graduate Diploma in Law)

• Integrated Masters or MPhil students

Benefits

Successful recipients will receive:

• A full tuition fee waiver for the duration of the master’s program.

• A £1,000 monthly allowance for up to 12 months to cover living expenses.
