Vice Chancellor’s Future Leaders Award 2025: Overview

The University of Surrey offers the Vice Chancellor’s Future Leaders Award to self-funded international students starting a full-time undergraduate or master’s degree. This award recognises academic excellence, social responsibility, and leadership potential.

Deadlines

  • For September 2025 intake: 31 July 2025

  • For February 2026 intake: 9 January 2026

  • Applicants via Clearing: Deadline extended to 25 August 2025

  • Undergraduate (Bachelor’s)
  • Postgraduate (Master’s)

Vice Chancellor’s Future Leaders Award 2025: Eligibility Criteria

  • Must hold an offer to study a full-time undergraduate (Level 4) or master’s degree at the University of Surrey

  • Must be a self-funded international fee-paying student

  • Must be domiciled in one of the eligible countries:
    Algeria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Egypt, Indonesia, Italy, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Mauritius, Mexico, Mongolia, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, Oman, Peru, Poland, Portugal, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam, Zimbabwe

  • Not open to students from Surrey International Study Centre (SISC)

  • MSc Pharmaceutical Science applicants are not eligible

  • Cannot be combined with the alumni discount or any other Surrey scholarship

  • Students applying via Clearing must meet a minimum of ABB (or equivalent)

Documents Required

  • Scholarship application form

  • University of Surrey offer letter with student ID

  • Personal statement demonstrating leadership potential and social responsibility

  • Academic transcripts or predicted grades

Important Notes

  • Scholarship is awarded as a £7,500 tuition fee waiver

  • Awards are application-based and assessed monthly

  • Limited slots available and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis

  • Applications without a valid offer and student ID will not be considered

Selection Process

A scholarship panel will assess:

  • Previous academic performance

  • Predicted grades (if applicable)

  • Personal statement quality

  • Apply for and secure an offer for an eligible course at the University of Surrey

  • Submit the scholarship application using your student ID and offer letter

  • Applications are open until the deadline or until all awards are allocated
