Women in Global Health Leadership Fellowship 2025 Overview
The Women in Global Health Leadership Fellowship is a fully funded, year-long hybrid program designed to elevate the leadership capacity of African women in global health. The initiative is a collaboration between the University of Toronto, Moi University (Kenya), and the University of Cape Town (South Africa), with support from the Mastercard Foundation. The fellowship focuses on gender equity, health systems policy, mentorship, and leadership development.
Women in Global Health Leadership Fellowship 2025 Eligibility
Applicants must:

Identify as a woman
-
Be an African national residing and working in Kenya or South Africa

Be early to mid-career (5–15 years of experience) in local, regional, or global health
-
Hold a postgraduate degree (MA or PhD) in Public Health, Health Sciences, Health Policy, or related fields

Be working in public health policy, practice, teaching, and/or research
-
Demonstrate leadership qualities through academics, work, or community service
-
Have fluent English communication skills

Be available for a 5–7 day in-person training

Have the support of their employer to participate in the program

Women in Global Health Leadership Fellowship 2025 Fellowship Phases

Pre-Start: Orientation, needs assessment survey

Phase 1 (Online): Core learning sessions, guest lectures, and reflective exercises

Phase 2 (Hybrid): Online modules and one-week intensive in-person training

Phase 3 (Online): Mentorship, project development, final presentations, and exit interviews

Post-Fellowship: Join alumni network and potential to mentor future fellows
