For the 2026 intake, applications are open from February 1 to March 31, 2026, and the scholarship supports long-term degree programmes at accredited Taiwanese universities.

Monthly Living Allowance

Scholarship Duration

  • Master’s degree: up to 2 years

  • PhD: up to 4 years

Maximum total Taiwan Scholarship duration per person: 5 years

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Be a Turkish national

  • Have excellent academic records

  • Be of good moral character

  • Hold:

    • A secondary school diploma (for Bachelor’s), or

    • A post-secondary degree (for Master’s/PhD)

  • Apply directly to a Taiwanese university for admission

  • Meet GPA requirements:

    • Undergraduate: GPA above 3.0 (4.5 scale)

    • Graduate: GPA above 3.5 (4.5 scale)

Ineligible Applicants

  • ROC nationals or overseas Taiwanese students

  • Current students in Taiwanese universities

  • Applicants studying at the same degree level previously in Taiwan

  • Exchange/dual/joint degree students

  • Previous Taiwan Scholarship holders (5 years total limit reached)

  • Anyone who previously had a Taiwan Scholarship revoked

  • Recipients of other Taiwan government scholarships

  • Applicants already funded by Taiwanese institutions

Language Requirements

Chinese-taught programmes

  • TOCFL Level 3 or above required

English-taught programmes

  • TOEFL iBT / IELTS / approved English certification

  • Or English-taught programme proof from university

  • Programme must be MOE-accredited
