Job Title: DevOps Engineer
RP is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This position is crucial in ensuring seamless integration, automation, and efficient deployment pipelines within the VA’s data analytics IT applications and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing DevOps solutions that enhance the development lifecycle, improve system reliability, and accelerate the delivery of mission-critical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated software deployments and integrations.
- Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and infrastructure teams to implement DevOps best practices.
- Build and manage cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or similar) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Establish and maintain automated monitoring, alerting, and reporting systems to ensure platform stability and performance.
- Manage containerized environments using Docker, Kubernetes, or similar orchestration platforms.
- Develop scripts for automation tasks, including configuration management and system provisioning.
- Troubleshoot complex deployment issues and ensure production environments maintain uptime, security, and scalability.
- Support Agile development processes, including sprint planning, code reviews, and deployment strategy.
Requirements
- Proficiency in DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD, or similar platforms.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Solid experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- Understanding of Agile development principles and version control systems such as Git.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a DevOps, Automation, or related engineering role.
- Experience deploying and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in production environments.
- Hands-on experience designing scalable cloud architectures.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Must be eligible to undergo and pass a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting data analytics platforms or IT infrastructure in a government or enterprise environment especially supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs
- DevOps certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Azure DevOps Engineer Associate.
- Background in ITIL practices and IT service management frameworks.
