Master Mind Scholarships 2025–2026 Overview

The Flemish Ministry of Education and Training offers Master Mind Scholarships to outstanding international students pursuing master’s programmes in Flanders and Brussels. Each scholarship includes a €10,000 grant and a full tuition fee waiver per academic year (60 ECTS). Students pay only a small administrative enrolment fee and must apply through a participating Flemish higher education institution.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must apply for a master’s programme at a Flemish higher education institution

  • Must have a GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 (based on last obtained degree)

  • Must meet English language requirements (IELTS 7.0, TOEFL 94, or C1 CEFR)

  • Arts applicants: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 90, or B2 CEFR

  • Must be accepted by the host institution

  • Only one nomination per applicant allowed

  • Open to all nationalities except Russian

  • Previous degree must not be from a Flemish institution (credit mobility is allowed)

  • Cannot be currently enrolled in a Flemish institution unless in a preparatory programme

  • Ineligible: Preparatory, bridging, and distance learning programmes

  • At least 50% of ECTS must be earned at the Flemish institution

Benefits

  • €10,000 grant per academic year (paid in instalments)

  • Full tuition waiver (only €136.50 administrative fee may apply)

  • Covers accommodation, insurance, and living expenses

  • Renewable for a second year for 120 ECTS programmes (if 54 ECTS are obtained in year one)

Required Documents

  • Passport photo

  • International passport or national ID

  • Curriculum Vitae (with GPA and achievements)

  • Transcript of records (with certified translation if needed)

  • English language test results or an exemption letter

  • Motivation letter in English

  • Two signed recommendation letters

  • Copy of diploma(s) with certified translation if needed

Application Process and Procedures

Step 1: Check eligibility and whether the Flemish institution participates
Step 2: Apply to the host institution before their internal deadline
Step 3: Host institution preselects eligible applications
Step 4: Host institution creates your application in the Mobility-Online tool
Step 5: Receive a preselection email
Step 6: Complete and upload all documents to Mobility-Online
Step 7: Host institution validates and submits your application

Important Dates

  • Final application deadline: 27th April 2025, 23h59 GMT+1

  • No applications will be accepted after this deadline

  • Payments are made in three instalments during each academic year

Additional Notes

  • Reserved scholarships for Japan (3), Mexico (3), Palestine (2), USA (5)

  • Cannot be combined with other Flemish or Erasmus Mundus scholarships

  • Final installment withheld if degree is not obtained

  • In case of discontinuation, partial refund of the scholarship may be required

  • All students must submit a final essay and questionnaire after the programme
