The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) offers the QUT Postgraduate Research Award (QUTPRA) to support exceptional research students at both master’s and doctoral levels. Open to both domestic and international students, this scholarship supports full-time, on-campus postgraduate research.

QUT Postgraduate Research Award (QUTPRA) 2026 for Research Masters and PhD Students: Eligibility Criteria

Must meet QUT’s research degree and English language admission requirements

Must not already be receiving another living allowance scholarship for the same research degree
-
Must enrol as a full-time, internal student unless part-time/external study is approved
-
Current QUT PhD students must have less than 1 year of equivalent full-time study
-
Current QUT MPhil students must have less than 6 months of equivalent full-time study
-
International students must be eligible for Single Overseas Health Cover

Scholarship is tax-free and paid fortnightly

PhD: up to 3.5 years of funding including a 6-month extension (if approved)
