Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship 2026 for Mid-Career Cultural Leaders: Overview
The Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship, a partnership between the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and Clore Leadership, offers mid-career professionals in the arts and culture sector an individually tailored leadership programme in the UK. Open to exceptional leaders from selected countries, the fellowship equips participants with advanced leadership skills through training, mentorship, secondments, and networking. Up to five international fellows join a cohort of around 20 fellows each year.

Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship 2026 for Mid-Career Cultural Leaders: Eligibility Criteria

Must be a citizen and resident of one of the eligible countries: Brazil, China, Egypt, India, Jordan, Lebanon, Mexico, South Africa

Must intend to return to the home country after the fellowship

Hold a degree equivalent to at least a good UK second-class honours degree, or have equivalent professional experience/training

Minimum of five years’ work experience

Strong English proficiency (assessed in the application and interview)

Must not hold British or dual British citizenship

Must not be an employee, former employee (within the last two years), or relative of an employee of His Majesty’s Government, the British Council, or sponsoring UK universities

Previous HMG scholarship or fellowship recipients may apply after a five-year gap, showing career progression

Selection Process
Applicants are shortlisted based on their leadership experience, cultural impact, and potential for growth. Selected candidates will be invited to interview, after which final fellows will be announced.
