Dr. Lauren Gillespie’s new lab at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (School for Environment and Sustainability) is recruiting PhD students to join in Fall 2026. The research focuses on AI-integrated approaches for large-scale ecosystem monitoring in the era of rapid environmental change (the Anthropocene). The program is fully funded and highly interdisciplinary, bridging AI, computer science, ecology, data science, GIS, and environmental science.

Applicants should demonstrate strong interdisciplinary skills across AI, computer science, ecology, data science, or GIS.
