Who can apply:
- Home fee-paying students starting an eligible Master’s course in January or September 2026
- Anyone who hasn’t previously studied at the University of Birmingham
- Priority goes to graduates from Midlands-based universities, as part of Birmingham’s regional talent push
The three rounds:
- Round 1 deadline: 8 December 2025
- Round 2 deadline: 30 April 2026
- Round 3 deadline: 31 July 2026
If you get placed on the reserve list in any round, you don’t need to reapply — you automatically roll into the next round.
How to apply: Two steps, both required before the deadline:
- Apply to your Master’s programme through the University of Birmingham’s Course Finder, with all supporting documents (references, transcripts, English language proof if needed).
- Submit the separate Birmingham Masters Scholarship application form, using the application ID from your programme application. Get that ID number right — a mismatch can delay or void your scholarship application.
With round three closing on 31 July 2026, this is genuinely one of the fastest-approaching deadlines on this list, so if you’re eligible, don’t leave it to the last week.
