Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship: Up to 100% Tuition Fee Discount for High-Achieving International Students

Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship

Title: Deakin Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship: Up to 100% Tuition Fee Discount for High-Achieving International Students

Description: Deakin University is offering international students up to 100% off tuition fees through its Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship. See if your grades qualify and how to apply.

Deakin University in Australia runs one of the more generous fee-discount scholarships for new international students, and it comes down almost entirely to your academic record. There’s no essay marathon here — just solid grades and a clean application.

What you get:

  • 100% or 50% off your tuition fees, depending on how strong your application is
  • A spot in Deakin’s Vice-Chancellor’s Professional Excellence Program (this is mandatory, not optional)
  • Priority (not free) access to on-campus housing
  • Support for the full length of your program, not just year one

Who qualifies:

  • New international students starting a Deakin coursework degree
  • Meets the standard entry and English language requirements for the course
  • At least 85% (or the equivalent) in your most recent qualification — that’s 85%+ in Year 12 boards, a 10 overall in GCSE/A-Level, 32+ in the IB Diploma, or 80%+ average across your first two years of an undergraduate degree

Who doesn’t qualify: Anyone applying to the Doctor of Medicine (H911) program — that course is excluded from this scholarship entirely.

Worth knowing before you apply: hitting the minimum grade doesn’t guarantee anything. Deakin reviews on a rolling basis each trimester, and because competition is heavy, the actual cutoff in practice tends to run higher than the stated minimum.

How to apply: Fill out the International Scholarship Program application form and email it to Deakin International Admissions at least a month before your program starts. You’ll also need a 300-word personal statement (written in your own voice, not a template) and two references that speak to your leadership or community involvement. Only successful applicants get a reply, so don’t wait around for a rejection email. If you haven’t heard back, assume it didn’t go your way and look at your next option.
